As a whole is a National Archaeological Park to the east of the city of Cusco which covers some 2.200 hectares of land in the district of Oropesa, province of Quispicanchis. From mile 18 kms. on the paved Cusco - Puno, north and crossing the creek Watanay part a dirt road about 5 kms. to reach the main archaeological monument. A mile from the runway, lies the small town of Tipon which highlights an extraordinary colonial mansion, is part of Qespikancha farmhouse once owned by the Marquis of San Lorenzo in shady valleys (1650-1802), is undoubtedly the rural monument most important legacy of the colony that is now totally abandoned.
The detour to Tipon (km 21) is located two kilometers from the town of Oropesa. From there, a four-kilometer dirt road leads to the place.
