Pauro is one of the eleven provinces that make up Peruvian Cusco Region. Its northern border province of Cusco, the east by the province and the province of Quispicanchi Acomayo, south of the province of Chumbivilcas and west by the province of Anta, the Apurimac region.

The province has an area of 1 984.42 square kilometers and is divided into nine districts.
